Manners To Know At Trams Of Istanbul

If you are new to Istanbul, these etiquettes may help you when you are travelling by tram.

1-Give your seat to older or pregnant women:

It is difficult to find a seat on trams, especially in Istanbul. If we consider this difficulty for mothers who carry their babies or elderly peoples, this is a real problem for them. Because we all know that both these people are tired more than usual for reasons beyond their control.

2- Don’t try to get in before peoples get off (passengers exit first):

As Istanbul is home to many different people in terms of population and culture, it is possible to encounter events that will irritate you while you are getting on the tram or getting off. For example, the tram came to the stop where you will get off, and it is possible to across that people who want to get on it while you are about to get off.  Don't do that.

3- Don’t bring food that has a strong smell:

One of the most frequently complained events on the trams used by many people is that the bad-smelling food spread bad smells. Eating is also a necessity but you need to know where to carry which food or where to eat it. So, in order not to be like other people, do not eat or carry strong-smelling food in public.

4- Take your bag off your back when it is crowded:

The trams in Istanbul are very crowded in rush hours. Most people use the tram at these times, most of them get on tram with backpacks or handbags. Put it down as you see in the photo to avoid disturbing anyone...
